Miss
Violet doing great!
Just wanted to shoot a quick message over to you guys that
this picture was taken the morning after we got Miss Violet home. It took her a
full hour to get used to the boys (we were in shock, we were guessing best case
a month till a picture like this happened). Drako the long haired dachshund is
in love with her! Wakes up every morning and wants to check on her. And Ryder
the piebald is very content with her too as long as he gets his attention from
his humans :-)! She's doing well eating, playing with her toys, taking naps and
enjoying watching the boys go outside from her back window. We can not express
our thanks enough for all the hard work you all do.
We feel beyond blessed to
find such a great addition to our family who is turning out to be the perfect
fit!
Thanks again!

Dear Jennifer:
Life continues to be pretty sweet. Besides my favorite activities of eating and sleeping, I enjoy regular back and neck massages by Mom and tongue baths by Uncle Felix. It's a tough life, but somebody has to live it. I thought you would enjoy this picture of Uncle Felix and me pretending to be conjoined Siamese twins.

Hope you
have some nice massages and tongue baths in store for you for Valentine's Day! Your

Bear
I just
want to let you know that Bear is doing great! We brought him home from
the shelter and he came walking out of the cat carrier prancing around the
house like he had lived here for 20 yrs! He follows you around the house until
you stop, then he lays down right on your feet. He has alot of spunk and loves
to do laps around the house in the morning and at night before he plops himself
somewhere for a few hours of nap time...and that somewhere is usually the
computer chair because it is the most used chair in the house. Bear loves to
have his back scratched and he even lets me trim his front claws!
Thank you
so much for introducing us to him....he is loved much!
Courage (Tweedledum)
Courage (formally known as Tweedledum) is the best dog and totally loves his forever home!

Ashley (Ruby)
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that Ashley (now called
Ruby) is doing wonderfully! She is gentle, sweet, happy and absolutely in love
with my kids and my other dog. Fortunately the feeling is mutual on all counts.
Toby (our other dog) loves to play with her and accepted her immediately.
Here
is a picture of Ruby with the kids. Thank-you for all the work you do on behalf
of the animals. Laura
Hello! I just wanted to share some photos of my sweet babies I
adopted in early December! I adopted the marmalade brothers, Peter and Paulie.
They are now named Marvel and DC (because they're my Super Cats!) I love them
to pieces! They are the absolute best cuddle buddies and fill my day with so
much joy! The cats are happy, healthy, and so very loved!
Best Wishes, Caitlin
Desiree and Laura
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for helping me find the sweetest and most playful
kitty ever! I want to give you an update on Desiree (now Lucy).
Lucy is loving being a house cat/queen of the house. In her
spare time she likes to play with a laser pointer and toys. I absolutely adore
her. She is the perfect cat for me. She loves to be pet and spend time with me.
Whether I am cooking, cleaning, pulling an all nighter to study for finals, or
just watching tv she is always happy to be my partner in crime. Aside from
being sweet and playful, I also think she is the most beautiful kitty ever! Her
stripes, swirls, and patches are stunning. She is a beautiful torbie. She warms
up to us even more with every day. Thank you so much for uniting Lucy and I as
well as many other animals with loving families. She has so much love to give
and I couldn't be happier.
My Mom couldn't be happier with the doggy she just adopted
from ARLSRI a few weeks ago. Laura (now Lola) has adjusted to her new home so
quickly. My Mom's other dog Molly is happy to have a sister (now that she has
gotten over initial jealousy haha). Lola is the sweetest girl and we just love
her.
Thanks to all of the ARLSRI staff. We appreciate what you do
for the animals today and always. Merry Christmas!
See you soon!

Bella
Jennifer
Good morning I just wanted to let you know that Bella is adopting to her new home and with her baby brother Rocco (8 months), very well. She is very playful and loves to be in your lap, what a hambone :):):):)
She got a beautiful haircut by my Vet, the "lion style" she is sooooooooooo adorable and loves her new do. It will be easier for her to groom herself since she is long-haired, and no fur-balls (hopefully).
I want to wish you, your co-workers and families and very Merry CHRISTMAS and a BLESSED New Year :):):):)

Louie
I wanted to give you a Louie Update. I've attached a couple of pictures so you can
see his progress. He is doing
amazing! Of course, by the look of the
picture of him in his Santa scarf, you can see how mischievous he is.....making
a mess out of everything! The second
picture reminds me of the RCA dog. He
was waiting for my son to come in the door.
He thinks he can fit in the front windows....it’s meant for a cat and
not a dog
Louie has adapted very well!
He even likes my husband now. It
was a rocky 6 weeks with getting him use to everyone, but now he has settled in
and runs the show here! He loves car
rides (which when the weather is better – we will be down to stop in and say
hello with him), loves to chase the wild turkeys out of our yard, and loves to
chase the cats into hiding! Overall, we
are completely loving him and enjoy his company. He has lots of energy, loves to chew
everything in sight, and just loves to give kisses.
I just wanted to thank you and your staff for all you
do! I can’t wait to see you move into
the new building.
We will see you soon!
Happy Holidays,
Jennifer L
Chessie
Hi Jen,
I just wanted to let you know that Chessie is doing beautifully in our home. She was comfortable in her new home right from the start -- no hiding under beds -- and she's explored every inch of the house she can get to. In fact, we were tempted to change her name to Cobweb, because it seemed like every cobweb in the house wound up in her whiskers.
We talked about different names, but we like Chessie, so Chessie it is. Actually, her formal name is Mrs. Francesca Tiddlewinks, middle name Mischief. But she's Chessie, or just as often Kitty. She's sweet and loves to cuddle. She also loves to tear around the house with her toys. Her favorites are pom poms and catnip mice. She's so proud of her "kills" and parades around with them.
The other day she saw snow for the first time and was glued to the window the whole time.
We're so glad that we found the perfect cat for us. Thank you for all your work at the shelter.

Takoda
Takoda is doing wonderful :)!! He is such a sweetie, loves to play but also loves to cuddle. As I type this he is playing with his favorite squeaky toy. He is so intelligent and it seems like he knows some English now :)! Our cat gets along with him very well and sometimes Takoda wants to play with the cat but is respectful, it's so funny Takoda will find caterpillars in the yard and try to play with them. When he plays he is very noises but it is so precious and hysterical the way he runs around the house, chases his tail, and pounces on toys. I feel so blessed to have Takoda in my life and I will always love him for many many years to come, I am so happy to have a companion and I am so thankful. He truly means the world to me beyond words can describe, I feel so lucky it was meant to be. Blessings.Rosie Lee (Ellie Mae)
Hi Jennifer! It’s just Renee and Sherry here updating you on
Ellie Mae renamed to Rosie Lee. She is doing great and always follows me
around. I don't have to have the leash on her when we walk her because she
follows me. Her ears are much better after the grooming which we thank you very
much for. She was so tired when we first picked her up and slept for a long
time (on the bed of course). Now she loves the bed. She is a great dog to just
hang out with and she has already improved so much! Her and the other animals
get along just fine. We got Rosie to go up the set of stairs all by herself the
other day and it was great to see. Here is a picture of her and our lab Benny.
Jax
Our newest family member "Jax" (formally known as
Tweedle Dee) enjoying an afternoon snooze with his new kitty friend Tessa :o)
Sophia is doing so well in her new home in Narragansett with
her new "sister" Luna!! She enjoys walking by the beach and cozy
pillow naps next to Luna.
This is Abby (formerly Happy). We adopted her this past May
and she is our best friend! Thank you for everything you do for all the sweet
fur-babies!
Calvin
Hi-
Update for you. Calvin has taken up opera singing, and
Smokey is a champion napper! They are
just too darn cute! Elise
Phil & Sweet Pea
Hello - I wanted to give you folks an update and share some pics.
"Freaky" Phil was ruling the roost within about 15 minutes of his
arrival home. Sweet Pea was hesitant but soon followed suit, she has become
Phil's shadow.
Phil is, for the most part, gentle.
Sometimes I have to remind him that she's just a little peanut but she turns
around and gives him holy heck. Phil is very protective of her, they already
seem to be lifelong pals. I'll check in periodically and let you know how things
are.
Thank you all so much! Lynn M
Abby Lee
Dear Jennifer,
Here are few photos of our first few days together with Abby Lee. We have renamed her "Prunella" and she seems to be okay with that new name. She has been a delight. Taz, our other dog is learning to
appreciate her. We bought her a bed that matches Taz's and you can see them
both in their respective beds in our kitchen.
Thank you so much!
Jennifer
Muffin
Muffin the dog (yellow lab mix) I adopted several weeks ago
who is now Yadi (taken from the St. Louis Cardinal catcher, Yadier Molina) is a
fantastic dog. We have taken her to the Charlestown dog park and she is great
with other dogs. They can't run as fast as she can and they tire before she
does. There has been one mishap though. It's funny in a way. While she was in
my car waiting, she got under the passenger seat and chewed the wires that
control the airbags. My insurance covered it. I made barriers now so she no
longer can get under the seats. Thank you for a great dog, Lou C.
Simon
Simon is doing very well in his new home! He’s loving it. He
is completely lovable, I come home from work and he’s climbing all over me. He
cuddles 24/7, maybe sometimes a little too much because he likes to climb on me
in the middle of the night and never gets off of me ha ha.
Lindsey
Yasha (Wynonna).
Hi Jennifer
Just letting you know that Yasha (Wynonna) is doing
great! She is very loving and is
definitely out of her shyness. She loves
to go for walks and be with people. She
seems very happy and is adjusting really well.
Thanks for your help, Deb
Mish
We adopted Mish on August 17 when we were on vacation in
Rhode Island. We are so happy to have her in our family. She adjusted rather
quickly and even sleeps with our two Yorkies. It’s like she has always been
here with us. She is a joy to have. Very loving and affectionate and we are
spoiling her. We love her so much. Thank you for all you did to make her
adoption such a pleasure. Good luck with your new building. We hope to stop by
next August while vacationing in beautiful Rhode Island. Jan & Dale
Chloe
Hello Jen,
I wanted to share an update on Chloe with you. She is
healthy and now happier than ever since we have moved to our new home in
Westerly. She is also more playful and more affectionate with us than ever
before. Her favorite toy is her blue "boogie mat" which she rolls
around with and wrestles. She really enjoys hanging out in my office, sitting
in a window next to her brother Chewy (our dwarf rabbit, his cage is near the
window). She has also started curling up in bed with me when I'm sleeping, and
when I'm awake too. Before she would climb all over me and then run away
nervously and then come back. She makes a great cuddle buddy! The pictures I've
attached to this email include pics of her on our bed with her plush Vera
Bradley blanket (it used to be mine, but she has claimed it for herself, and I
just can't resist her cuteness, she deserves the nice blanket!).
I hope all of her friends at the shelter are doing well. I
am forever grateful to you for taking such good care of her before she claimed
her place in our family. Christine

adopted separately but
reunited with their new owners for a play date!
Journey
Hi,
Just thought I'd send a quick email to let you know that
Journey is doing quite well and is adjusting to life in our home. She loves to lay next to me and gets quite energetic during
play time. We taught her 'fetch' and to
drop the ball near our feet. We also got
her the Kong classic (a beehive looking toy) and an antler dog chew (from deer,
elk, and moose that are collected after they've dropped off the animal - I had
heard about the Boy Scouts out west doing this, but I never knew they were good
as a dog chew.) She loves her toys -
actually she loves to chew and has gone through 3 tennis balls already! We love having her as a part of our family - she is a sweet,
loving dog! Have a nice weekend! Sandi
